From Nebbiolo farmed at nearly 500 meters. The cool air currents from Monte Rosa provide powerful diurnal temperature changes, while Monte Fenera provides shelter from storms and mild winters. The hand-harvested fruit is fermented in stainless steel and aged in in barrel for 12 months. The wine has a bright, ruby color and show with aromatics of black pepper, red currant and blood orange. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodies and fresh with silky tannins. About this wine producer: Tenute Guardasole is a very small estate located in the Alto Piemonte - far Northern Piemont. The estate’s two-hectares of vines are planted on the highest hillsides of the region, and farmed organically. Marco Bui, the proprietor is in the vanguard of young wine producers bringing life back to this long abandoned region. His tiny winery is state of the art, but his winemaking practice is to intervene as little as possible.
