Deep, dark cherry and raspberry aromas and flavors mark this wine which comes from vineyards in Brochon and Fixin. With terrific concentration, this wine opens up over the course of an evening.
About this wine producer: Philippe Rossignol and his son, Sylvain farm seven hectares of vineyard, split between the appellations of Gevrey-Chambertin, Marsannay, and Fixin. Philippe was born in 1956, “not in the vines,” as he puts it, and has built his domaine slowly since the early 1970s. He is the brother-in-law of Joseph Roty, an acclaimed producer who helped guide his purchase of land in the early days. The domaine produces approximately 20,000 bottles (less than 1,700 cases) in an average year.
So WS gives it an 89? For WS to give a 90+.it costs over $125. This is the best under $100 PN I have had in years. This has "staying power". Get a few and hold on.
