I was born in Chicago and raised in Singapore. Growing up was an adventure, always traveling, eating great food and visiting some of the most beautiful places on earth. I found myself in the kitchen as a youth, cooking with my mother, developing my skill and observing new techniques that I still use today.

I graduated from the University in New Orleans (met my beautiful wife) with a BS in Marketing. While attending college, I worked at several fine dining establishments and found my home at Herbsaint Bar and Restaurant, tending bar and solidifying my food knowledge watching Chef Donald Link in the kitchen. My wife and I live in Philadelphia with two Chihuahuas and soon, our first child. Nothing brings me more joy than traveling, cooking and enjoying great food and wine with great people.

If you want a real recipe for Gumbo all you have to do is ask!

    I haven’t found a great, AUTHENTIC, recipe for Gumbo since I left New Orleans many (many!) years ago. I must remember to ask Stephen for a copy on my next visit. Maybe he can recommend a wine for me too?!?!
