Dominique Roger’s brilliant Sancerre is one of the purest, most stunning examples of Sancerre that we’ve ever found – polished, supple, racy, delicious white wine that is a perfect pairing for seafood with beurre blanc, and goat cheeses. This same wine, when paired with the drop dead beautiful, Provençale food at a friend’s restaurant in Philadelphia, was well, not so good.

This being my first date with Susan, I of course wanted to strut the “food & wine” stuff, but didn’t want to appear like the officious, pompous fool I can be…it was enough to keep myself from falling over in my chair in the presence of Susan (or as Greg says, “Dave, you’re the luckiest man in the world.” )

So, I ordered some Bele Casel Prosecco to go with the lovely food from my friend, Patrice’s kitchen, and saved the Sancerre for the cheese course – wonderful!
