vinsobres

The Domaine Jaume is a high-tech wonder in the rocky hills of appellation Vinsobres. Richard and Pascal Jaume have invested heavily in the land and winery. They make some of our most popular wines

The farm was purchased at the turn of the last century by Claude Jaume’s grandfather, at a time when vines were scarce in the region. When the area, Vinsobres, was joined to the appellation Côtes-du-Rhône in 1936, things started looking up for the family – the wine was much easier to sell, and investments were made in the vineyards and winery.

The War took its toll, but eventually the reputation of the farm and its wines helped lead the way to Vinsobres being awarded a Côtes-du-Rhône Villages (a step up in recognition), and eventually its own Appellation Controlée. These days, Claude and his two sons, Pascal and Richard operate a unique combination of organic farming, and high-tech, temperature-controlled vinification. For us, this is a large winery, and they produce some of our most affordable (and popular) wines.
