Last night’s tasting of Châteauneuf-du-Pape with Julien Barrot (above, left) was a wonderful study of the first “appellation contrôlée” of France – seven vineyard sites, each adding its own character to the three different cuvées.
Julien is the first member of this family to turn all of the produce of their vineyards into estate bottled wine. He is a wonderfully energetic and engaging young man who is gathering a lot of attention!
