Since arriving in early 2003, she has become key to the business as an ambassador, occassional sales person (she’s found out she really likes wine!), and as the office/customer relations manager for all three locations.

Katherine also handles the day-to-day management of Oeno Pro Bono (wine for the greater good), our outreach and support program for non-profit, social service agencies.

In 1996 Greg left Le Bec-Fin (after nearly twenty years as sommelier and General Manager) to open Moore Brothers Wine Company, a retail wine shop in Pennsauken, New Jersey, that sells hand-picked, small-farm wines from some of the finest producers in the world.

Of special interest is that every Moore Brothers wine is “sourced” in a direct, personal relationship with the farmer-grower who made it, and is shipped and stored in perfect conditions of temperature control. Most sell for less than sixteen dollars per bottle.

In 1999 Greg opened his second Moore Brothers store, located in the Trolley Square section of Wilmington, Delaware. Food and Wine Magazine named it “Best New Wine Shop in America”, in 2001. A third Moore Brothers store, with a mezzanine floor dedicated to wine classes and special events, opened at 33 East 20th Street (across the street from Gramercy Tavern) in New York in May of 2006.

Greg’s first book, The Wine Chronicles – Writing Your Own Fine Wine Book, was published by Running Press in 2002.

By 1979 he’d become sommelier/maitre’d at Déjà-Vu (“don’t blame me, I never cooked”) – and opened Philadelphia’s first “wine bar” in 1981. His last restaurant gig was the hugely successful wine program at Jack’s Firehouse in 1989, which built an audience for his entry into wine retail in 1991.

Currently, in between stints as IT director/ graphic designer/ troubleshooter/ staff psychologist/ mapmaker/ partner in Moore Brothers New York, David is a rock ‘n roll/ blues/ country/ singer/ drummer with more energy than a 53 year-old guy needs.

You’ll find him holding court at Friday night events in our New York store, and harrassing new customers in New Jersey.
