bourgueil ‘n thighs

By David Moore

wine label

Sunday was another day of running errands with Susan, topped off with a slow cooked pot of chicken thighs, mushrooms, and a mix of turnips and parsnips (not to mention a little bacon fat). The star of the evening (it’s never my cooking) was the drop-dead gorgeous bottle of Bourgueil 2005 from Joël Taluau.

This densely flavored Loire Valley red is just perfect with earthy flavors of slow cooke meat and fowl…it’s great “cold weather” drinking.
